Spontaneous family photoshoot in the forest of Vaals and in the field in Epen

What a lovely family this was! The parents live in the hilly countryside and one of the sons in England. A long time ago, they booked this family portrait with me as a gift for both parents. And today was the day. On a beautiful sunny day, we met on the terrace of the restaurant Wilhelminatoren. Here, the whole family sat together, enjoying coffee.

From there, we headed into the beautiful forest near the Three-Country Point. Traditionally, I started with a portrait of the entire family together with the parents, their own children, and the grandchildren, and of course, the beloved photo of grandma and grandpa with the grandchildren. From there, we took photos of each family separately, walking and hopping along the beautiful forest path. Through the trees, the beautiful backlight of the sun shone.

The kids also wanted to be photographed together. Always fun to do: two little girls walking and hopping along the forest path, and then letting all the grandchildren jump hand in hand into the air across the full width of the path. What could be more fun than watching kids during a photoshoot? It took some explanation, and I had to count to three a few times before they all jumped into the air at the same time, but they had a lot of fun, and so did I.

Afterwards, we took some more posed photos, by the beautiful thick roots of trees along the forest path. First the grandparents with both sons, and then the children together on sawn-off tree trunks, and then getting them to laugh, that's quite an art.

Grandma also really wanted some beautiful portraits in the beautiful field next to their house in Epen. So, we drove there together. The view was truly stunning, and so I was able to deliver a beautiful spontaneous and partly posed photo reportage with a changing background of forest and meadow.
