Newborn Shoot in Aachen: At-Home Baby Photographer
From this lovely couple, I had the opportunity to capture their maternity journey, photograph their wedding, and now, with the arrival of their little girl, I was invited to conduct the newborn shoot at their home.
Since they had moved, I arrived at their new residence around 6 p.m. on a warm summer evening, which was still undergoing renovations. It posed quite a challenge as we aimed to create a stylish newborn photoshoot in a home that was still in the process of being renovated, with plenty of moving boxes around. Fortunately, I found a nice spot with natural light and a sheepskin as a backdrop.
Later, we decided to move to the garden for the remaining baby photos, where a beautiful sunset was unfolding. We brought along some fun props, like a basket and the sheepskin, as well as a large teddy bear that had belonged to dad when he was little.
In the garden, which was also under construction, I discovered an old pink wall that complemented the overall scene. Here, I captured several photos of the proud parents with their little daughter. This led to a hilarious moment as their daughter decided to tug on her mom's hair.
Finally, we rearranged a pallet and took some beautiful backlit photos amidst the sparse greenery by the garage wall. These turned out to be my personal favorites. The old chair, the sheepskin, and the flowers framed this baby photo beautifully.
An album is currently in the works, featuring a compilation of the maternity and newborn photos.
