Food Photographer Sint Odilienberg: Culinary Journey with Chef René van Brienen at Castle Frymerson: Savoring Grilled Splendor with Wine, Hay, and Delicate Livar Pork Delight

Step into the world of culinary magic at the castle, where Livar pork, Peruvian asparagus, and a crispy fried egg shine, framed by the beautiful castle door and refined dining room. As a photographer, I bring not only these culinary delights to life but also the harmony with selected wines from Laurent Smedts, a renowned wine supplier.

Food Photoshoot on a Gray Rainy Afternoon

Just before twelve, I arrive at the estate, where the gentlemen in the garden are busy with preparations. It's raining, the sky is gray, there are no leaves on the trees, and now the challenge is to capture beautiful images in this setting.

Frymerson Sint Odilienberg and René van Brienen Strive for Culinary Glory

With their beautiful, distinctly Limburgish creation, they participate in the VriendenLoterij Kasteelprijs, contributing to putting Sint Odilienberg on the culinary map, with the chance to win €10,000. In this context, I was invited to take photos for the competition.

Three Iconic Photo Decors for Culinary Imagination

While determining three backgrounds together—the beautiful castle door, the lush garden with the BBQ and the majestic view of the castle, and the intimate dining room—I set to work photographing René van Brienen at his BBQs and subsequently as he finished preparing the Livar at the dining table.

After working together for two hours, it was time to conclude the task with a delightful glass of wine and a piece of grilled pork.
