Party photographer Meerssen: goodby twenties, a special 30th birthday in the cellar of the Proosdij
Recently, I was called by wedding planner Denice, from Perfectly Planned by Denice, to see if I was interested in photographing a party in March. The client approached her to organize her 30th birthday party with a special theme: RIP twenties.
Champagne glasses with black bows around the foot
As part of this theme, there were champagne glasses with black bows around the foot, and the hostess and her husband were dressed in black (she in a long lace off-shoulder dress) and he even had his nails painted black. Friends trickled in, all in style; with top hats, pearl necklaces, masks, lace dresses, gentlemen in suits. It looked very festive. Especially the birthday girl's enthusiasm was contagious. Everyone was warmly embraced, and everyone brought very special gifts, fitting the theme. From a tree stump with an owl on it, to books about witchcraft and bookstands.
A DJ with a violinist at the dance party
Originally, I was supposed to stay until half past nine, until I got into a conversation with the DJ, who mentioned that a violinist would come at ten o'clock. I thought that was quite a special performance that needed to be captured, so we decided together that I would stay an hour longer to capture the dance party and the violinist's performance. What a great party it turned out to be! Everyone slowly moved to the part of the cellar where the DJ was playing, and there was a lot of dancing!
A great atmosphere at this birthday party
The beats of the DJ combined with the tones of the violin created a very special atmosphere. It was wonderful to capture these exuberant and uniquely dressed people. The photos have been delivered, and I was allowed to use a few for my blog. So I can show you what an awesome party this was!
