Wedding Photographer Chateau Sint Gerlach: Romantic Photoshoot of a Marriage Proposal
Recently, I was called by a young man from Brabant asking if I would photograph a marriage proposal. He wanted to surprise his girlfriend with it.
For this, he had booked an overnight stay at Chateau Sint Gerlach. We discussed his idea over the phone, how to photograph the proposal, and how we could execute it as a surprise for her.
We agreed to meet at the hotel's reception, where he handed me the engagement ring. Then, he returned with his girlfriend and introduced her to me. Together, we walked through the park, and his girlfriend thought we were going to do a love shoot. I had told him that the rose garden would be a beautiful spot for photographing the proposal. While I photographed her separately, he carefully took the ring out of my bag. We walked towards the gazebo, and when they stood there together in the beautiful backlight of the sun, he went down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Since everything was so perfectly organized, I could capture it beautifully.
Of course, she said yes, and he slid the engagement ring onto her finger. Meanwhile, I had come closer to document all of this as a photographer. After much excitement and a tear, we continued, and we took, among other things, a beautiful close-up of the engagement ring. Then we walked over a bridge and slowly made our way to Burgemeester Quicx, a cozy place on the premises where he had arranged a bottle of champagne. Here, they toasted together, and then it was slowly time to say goodbye to this lovely couple.
